Our Story

Hello, I'm Kalpana Das, the heart and soul behind Rangila Dhaga. Hailing from an artisan family in West Bengal, my journey into the world of design has been deeply rooted in tradition and craftsmanship.

Since its humble beginnings in 2014, Rangila Dhaga started as a small unit in Delhi with just 5 to 6 talented women. I've had the privilege to train these women in the art of hand embroidery, empowering them with skills and opportunities. Today, we've expanded to two units in West Bengal and Delhi, with many dedicated women crafting beautiful creations.

At Rangila Dhaga, we take pride in creating sustainable fashion and accessories. Our collections feature handloom cotton Gamcha, intricately hand-embroidered fabrics, and a range of unique jewelry, bags, and home decor items.

Gamcha:

Originating from West Bengal, Gamcha is a vibrant, checkered cotton fabric crafted by skilled village weavers. Traditionally used as a hand towel, its colorful patterns and textures have inspired our designs, adding a touch of heritage to our creations.

Kantha Hand Embroidery:

Kantha embroidery is another jewel in West Bengal's rich heritage. This traditional hand embroidery, crafted by rural women, involves a simple running stitch along the edges of old cotton saris. Each stitch tells a story, reflecting the beauty of our culture and tradition.

At Rangila Dhaga, we strive to blend innovation with tradition, always seeking new ways to express our artistic vision. Upholding the legacy of rural handicrafts has been our mission from the start, cherishing the skills passed down through generations.

Empowering women is at the core of our ethos. We believe in creating a supportive environment where women can thrive, learn, and grow. Additionally, our commitment to sustainability is unwavering. With every product we create, we prioritize eco-friendly practices, ensuring that our impact on the planet is as beautiful as our designs.

By infusing a modern outlook into traditional heritage, Rangila Dhaga has carved a unique path in the world of handicrafts. We invite you to join us on this journey, celebrating the beauty of handcrafted creations that tell a story of tradition, empowerment, and innovation.
